Home of Deacon Daniel Potter and Martha Sanders Potter
Daniel and Martha Potter's Home
There is too much genealogy to place on these pages so I'm just noting a few things. This is the home of my 4th. great grandparents in Hartwick, New York. It was built on the foundation of the church that Daniel was devoted to. The church was destroyed by fire. After Daniel's death the home was sold to Welcome Richards.
Over the years it has had some renovations but a fair amount of the original home remains.
Martha was Daniel's second wife and they had one son George Whitefield Potter. He was born in 1806. George married Camilla Bliss born 1809 and both are buried in Forksville, PA. The majority of our ancestors are buried in CT, N.Y. and PA.
The family descends from early settlers and Mayflower Passengers, Several served in the Revolutionary War.Here is a link to the Mayflower Descendants Website.
The POTTER, HALL, MUNSON and YOUNGLOVE families all arrived pre 1634 in America and through marriage are Mayflower descendants. The FORGIONE family arrived at the turn of the century and the HATTON family is unknown. POTTER, HALL, MUNSON families were all founders of New Haven CT. In 1639 they all signed the New Haven Compact and were among the 69 founding families. See maps of plots at Cornel University.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Raynor married Samuel Younglove. Nelson Franklyn Younglove married Sarah Jane Munson, Dawn Ann-Marie Hatton married Gavin William Hall. Ernest Hatton married Noreen Vive, William Hall married Maria Forgione. Mertie Potter married Henry Exley [Oechsle} See relationships below and in private Family Tree,

The Hatton, Hall, Munson, Potter familes are related to the same families in the 1600-1700s. They are distant cousins. Some Forgione family members seem to be connected as well based on DNA testing.
